Ocean Fate

I can’t keep my head above the water

Maybe I’m just dense

Destined to drown.

My lungs welcoming the salty sea.

Why are the waves the only things

That ever want me?

I wasn’t born with the ability to float.

I can feel the ocean consume me.

The others make it look so easy

Treading the water delicately.

Gliding through their days

Like there is nothing to worry about.

So I plunge in.

But I can’t keep my head below the water

Delicate Hearts

Our hearts are so fragile.

It hurts when we breathe.

Shattered by memories

Lost in the breeze.

We are so tangled

Yet we break when we try.

Our feeble, fragile hearts,

They carry us through.

Let us make memories

That whisper into the breeze.

We are so unravelled

But we always find a way back

Retrace our steps and realise

The strength of our fragile hearts.

Note: Not actual sonnets, but sonnet structure used as inspiration.
